This is how it all started…
Welcome to My Journey—One of Rising, Rebuilding, and Reclaiming Joy
My name is Erin Hickey, and I’m a double above-knee amputee, a world traveler, a sobriety warrior, a manifestation teacher, and someone who believes that joy is not just a destination—it’s a way of being.
Seven years ago, I faced a turning point that shattered everything I thought I knew. I lost both of my legs due to a heroin overdose. What followed wasn’t just physical recovery—it was a complete rebirth. In the ashes of addiction, I found a fire I didn’t know I had. Today, I’m proud to say I’ve been sober for six years, and I now serve as a substance abuse counselor, helping others walk paths I’ve known intimately.
But life didn’t stop at survival. I chose to live boldly.
I travel the world not just to see new places, but to feel them—to meet people, to hear stories, to taste different cultures, and to stretch the edges of my comfort zone. I cook, I move my body, I breathe deeply, and I fill my days with mindful rituals that keep me grounded in gratitude. Whether I’m learning a new language in a café in Lisbon or practicing yoga on a quiet morning, I find beauty in the moment and power in the present.
This blog is a place for stories—mine and yours. It’s about transformation, mental wellness, creativity, and the limitless strength that lives inside us when we choose to rise.
So, come with me. Let’s talk about the hard stuff and the beautiful stuff. Let’s manifest, reflect, laugh, explore, and grow together.
Because your past doesn’t define you—your courage does.
